In attending an all girls’ high school, I have realized the value of women finding their voices. Every day, I see girls encouraged to share their ideas, and it has helped me in finding my own voice. I feel that all girls deserve to have the same support that I have had, and I hope to be that voice of encouragement for others. I am very thankful that the Institute for Girls’ Development has given me the opportunity to empower girls in themselves and their communities.
Other Experience:
I have participated in several years of club and school volleyball, as well as other sports, that have taught me the value of teamwork and communication. Through these experiences, I have also learned how to lift up other girls so that we all can succeed.
I am a volunteer for Breathe Southern California, an environmental organization, where I do projects aimed to improve Los Angeles air quality in underserved parts of the community.
