Middle School & High School Grit®

Middle School & High School Grit®

Weekly therapy group

Would your middle schooler or high schooler benefit from extra support? These weekly therapy groups focus on building skills for happiness, resilience, mindfulness, self-compassion, stress management, and self-advocacy.

What Does “Grit” Mean Anyway?

To have grit is to be courageous, determined, and resilient – to be your real self in today’s world. Group members help empower and support each other to be their authentic selves.

Three Things Group Members Like Best About our Grit Groups:

  • Finding and giving support in a safe space with peers
  • Learning more about “inner” skills, the skills that help us get through challenging times. Some of these skills include stressing less through mindfulness, gratitude and nurturing body & mind.
  • Practicing “outer” skills, such as investing in relationships, learning to lead, working through conflict in positive ways, and being empowered advocates for ourselves and others.

Parents:

We like to meet regularly with parents so we can let you know about the skills we’re teaching and ways you can support skill development and hardiness at home.  Additional parent coaching is available upon request.  We look forward to a collaborative working relationship with you!
