The social world of children is complex! The media reports about bullying and cyberbullying. Our kids tell us about conflicts, cliques, sometimes getting left out, and, on good days, the joy of belonging. What can parents do to help children navigate the complicated world of friendship and social relationships?
- Friendship: What is it and why is it so important?
- What core skills do children need to face social challenges?
- What can parents do to foster empathy and compassion?
- What tools can we use to help children develop their brains for social and emotional learning?
Dr. Melissa Johnson, psychologist, founder and CEO of the Institute for Girls’ Development, will address these important questions in her upcoming presentation. She will provide information, practical strategies, tips, and resources of value to parents.
