Child & Adolescent Specialty Practice Clinician

Pronouns: She / Her / Hers

Hello and welcome! I’m honored to serve as a clinical psychologist within the Institute’s Child and Adolescent Specialty Program (CASP), where I specialize in working with young children, parents, autistic girls/women, and perinatal populations. My passion lies in supporting children ages 0-5 and their families, as I believe early intervention is crucial for fostering healthy development and strong emotional connections.

I am deeply committed to helping families navigate the challenges that arise during childhood years, including coping with medical conditions, managing stress, and adjusting to family transitions. I view every behavior as a form of communication, and my goal is to help families understand what their child’s behaviors are expressing—whether it’s an unmet need, emotion, or response to their environment. Together with parents, I work to address a child’s underlying emotions and needs, allowing for deeper connection and lasting change.

Working with children and their families brings me immense joy. I am passionate about empowering parents to connect with their child in meaningful ways, helping to strengthen the parent-child bond, manage the stress of parenting, and set the foundation for a child’s emotional well-being. The growth and resilience I witness in the families I care for inspires me every day.

Additional Information about my Specialties:

My approach to therapy is attachment-focused and developmentally informed. I draw heavily on Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) and attachment theory to understand how a child’s relationships affect their brain and emotional expressions. This science-based approach highlights how secure relationships and emotional attunement help foster resilience, emotional growth, and behavior in children. My sessions often include both the parent and child (dyadic therapy), and I also work with parents individually to explore their own parenting styles, histories, and emotional experiences as they pertain to their child’s needs.

As Winnicott famously said, “There is no such thing as a baby; there is a baby and someone.” This guides my belief in the importance of viewing children within the context of their relationships, especially with their primary caregivers. By strengthening these relationships, we support not only behavioral change but also emotional well-being.

Parents who work with me gain a deeper understanding of their child’s behaviors, as well as practical, developmentally appropriate strategies to support their child’s emotional growth. Together, we work on fostering connection, attunement, and joy in parent-child interactions, helping to make time spent together more fulfilling and supportive.
