Culture affects us in many ways, and I am passionate about helping children and teens discover the ways in which their culture influences their relationships with themselves, others in their life, and the world around them. As a therapist at the Institute, I facilitate several weekly groups, including High School Grit and Compassion and Grit. The most rewarding part of this work is witnessing clients from diverse backgrounds connect with one another and form beautifully authentic relationships.

I am a pre-licensed therapist, and I use an eclectic, multiculturally-informed approach to working with individuals, families, and groups. This can include skill-building, mindfulness, expressive arts, and many other tools to help clients and families meet their treatment goals. I aim to find tools that work best for each individual client or family.

In my previous experience at Pepperdine’s community mental health clinic, I enjoyed collaborating with families to find the most effective tools and strategies to help them thrive in their world.  I also have prior experience helping survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner violence to process and heal from their trauma histories and become empowered to create meaningful and healthy relationships with themselves and others. I am trained in the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments and have worked with neuro- and culturally diverse individuals, helping them gain insight into their levels of functioning and become connected with needed services in the community. As a member of the Assessment team, I continue the work of helping clients find ways to thrive in their home, academic, and social settings.
