Community Education Workshop Facilitator

Being a woman is a wonderful privilege and responsibility. I would not be the woman I am today without the strong female role models in my life who showed me how to navigate this world with respect, kindness, and ambition. I owe it to those women to carry on their legacy —to lead by example. I want to inspire girls to stay kind, chase big dreams, and build beautifully strong communities.

I know that being a woman isn’t always easy. I have experienced this first-hand in a male-dominated field as an outdoor educator and within my STEM major. I’m grateful to be an intern for the Institute of Girls’ Development, where I can help foster a safe space for girls to develop their confidence, discover their self-worth, and face the challenges they’ll have to grow through in their lives.

Specialties:  I spent many years as a summer camp counselor, and I love finding new ways to make our workshops fun and memorable.  I’m always looking for opportunities to integrate creativity, collaboration, and imaginative play into our activities.

Education:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Geology, Cal State Long Beach

Prior Experience:  My previous experiences as a camp counselor, college resident assistant, and elementary education major help me to facilitate fun environments to learn and build community. Those experiences gave me the opportunity to work with women and girls of all ages.

Mission: I want every girl to know her worth, be confident in her abilities, and eagerly pursue her passions. I also want to inspire girls to advocate for themselves and their peers in a way that makes our whole community better.
