About the Institute: The Institute for Girls’ Development promotes excellence in psychotherapeutic and assessment services as well as community programs for girls, young women, gender-expansive youth, and their families. Our asset-based model of comprehensive, culturally-responsive services is based on current research on gender, culture, and effective psychotherapeutic interventions. Components of the Institute’s DBT Program: We have a comprehensive program for older teens and young adults, including non-binary and transgender youth. This includes: individual DBT therapy, DBT skills groups, phone coaching, parent coaching, and team consultation. We also offer DBT-Informed treatment for older teens and young adults. The clients served in our DBT practice often have a history of self-harm, emotional regulation challenges, suicidal ideation, and previous hospitalizations. Depending on the level of experience, clinicians joining the DBT team may initially provide DBT-informed therapy and/or work with clients in our Comprehensive Program.

Responsibilities would include:
- Carrying a caseload of individual clients and groups (20-25 clinical hours per week). In addition to working with clients in our DBT programs, clinicians will also work with some of our CASP clients and can use a DBT-informed approach with these clients or other appropriate approaches.
- Leading weekly therapy groups for children, teens, or young adults with a range of goals
- Supervising opportunity: Licensed DBT therapists have the possibility of supervising pre-licensed therapists.
- Engaging in consultation with the DBT team and the Institute leadership
- Participating in weekly DBT Consultation Team meetings and team-wide Case Consult meeting
- Attending DBT trainings: support is provided for ongoing introductory and advanced training.
- Participating in monthly consultation with our team consultant, Dr. Charlie Swenson.
- Attending Institute Professional Trainings; an educational stipend is provided for additional trainings related to area of interest.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Therapist: LMFT, LPCC, LCSW, Psychologist
- A background in working with children, adolescents, families, and groups.
- Demonstrated competency and interest in the 4 Essential Criteria for this position: Diversity, Clinical, Educational, and Organizational
- Ability to work with clients in-person and via telehealth
- Successful candidates interested in the DBT Subspecialty should have experience working with high-risk youth and young adults and previous experience participating on a DBT team, providing individual DBT therapy and leading DBT skills groups.
- Demonstrated use of behavioral approaches.
- Demonstrated use of mindfulness approaches.
- Interest in innovative program development and evaluation.
- Motivation to work with our team to build our program and practice.
- Interest in ongoing advanced DBT training, including moving toward DBT Certification in the future.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required for all candidates.
More about our Child and Adolescent Specialty Practice (CASP):
The specialists on this team provide treatment and assessment to clients ages 3 – 19. Specialists work with a variety of issues including emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, attention and executive functioning, social skills, cultural identity development, health concerns, grief, and adjustment to challenging life situations. Parent counseling and perinatal/postpartum clinical services are also provided. Modalities and approaches to treatment include individual, family, and group therapy. Our specialists work from a variety of theoretical orientations, including CBT, DBT informed, ACT and other mindfulness-based, developmental, and cultural-relational approaches.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position at 40 hours per week. The first 3 months are dedicated to building a full-time caseload (approximately 20-25 clinical hours weekly). Clinical hours are generally mid morning into the evening hours; weekend hours are also an option.

Compensation:
We offer a base salary (minimum guaranteed income) plus percentage-based bonus, depending on level of experience licensed clinicians with a full case load of 20-25 client hours weekly, combined together for a competitive annual salary range from $80,000-$110,000+. We also offer 2 weeks paid vacation with increases based on length of employment, 9 paid holidays, 5 sick days, 1 PTO day, group health/vision/dental insurance plans, 401k plan with employer matching, annual educational and professional membership stipends.
